Active Release Technique

Active Release Technique (ART) is a specialized manual therapy technique designed to treat various soft tissue conditions and injuries. The primary focus of ART is to address issues within the muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia, and nerves.

During an ART session, we use our hands to evaluate the texture, tension, and movement of the soft tissues. We identify areas with adhesions, scar tissue, or restrictions and apply specific, directed tension while the patient actively moves the affected body part through a range of motion. This process is designed to break down adhesions and release tension in the affected tissues.

ART aims to restore optimal function to the soft tissues by improving flexibility, reducing pain, and promoting better circulation. The technique is often employed to address a variety of conditions, including repetitive strain injuries, overuse injuries, muscle strains, and conditions related to poor posture. The goal is to enhance tissue mobility, reduce pain, and improve overall function. ART is commonly used among athletes and individuals involved in physical activities due to its focus on addressing soft tissue dysfunction.
